JAWZJAN (SW): Amanullah, Police Chief of Darzab district of Jawzjan told Salam Watandar that ISIS foreign and domestic fighters on Tuesday this week, had planned to carry out a suicide attack on the center of the district, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) and the National Army Command, however, their plan was foiled by the security forces’ preemptive strike on them.
‘The security forces attack caused the suicide vests of ISIS group to explode and as a result, 27 ISIS soldiers were killed’, the police chief of Darzab said.
Among the death ISIS soldiers were 10 Uzbekistani citizens, 6 Tajikistani citizens, and 2 French citizens in addition to local members of this group, he added.
The police chief of Darzab further said that the ISIS group has now reached in the proximity of two hundred meters of the district and have been planning to launch another attack on the center of the district.
An eyewitness also told Salam Watandar that ISIS fighters were killed due to the explosion of their suicide vests. However, the ISIS group has not said anything about this incident so far.
