KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology claimed on Wednesday the prices for telecom services have dropped and their quality has improved.

Mohammad Faheem Hashimi, Minister for Communication and Information Technology, told a press conference that extension of the fibrotic network has led to reduction in tariff and improvement in quality. Hashimi said bringing down the prices and further lifting the quality of service remains priority for the MoCIT.

The officials made these claims as residents in the capital Kabul told Salam Watandar they noticed no positive changes in the tariff or quality of the telecom services. They instead claimed things have further deteriorated in the past few days.

The MoCIT officials blamed poor infrastructure, shortage of electricity supply and insecurity as the main reasons behind the problems state of affairs in the telecom sector.
