{"id":9927,"date":"2022-05-05T11:03:17","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T11:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=9927"},"modified":"2022-10-15T14:17:33","modified_gmt":"2022-10-15T14:17:33","slug":"india-france-call-for-inclusive-government-in-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2022\/05\/india-france-call-for-inclusive-government-in-afghanistan\/","title":{"rendered":"India, France call for &#8216;inclusive&#8217; government in Afghanistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MONITORING (SW) &#8211;\u00a0India and France has expressed serious concern about the humanitarian situation and violation of human rights in Afghanistan while calling for an inclusive and representative government in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Issuing a joint press statement after the talks between the two countries during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two countries \u201creiterated their strong support for a peaceful, secure and stable Afghanistan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndia and France expressed serious concern on the humanitarian situation and violation of human rights and reiterated strong support for a peaceful, secure and stable Afghanistan, emphasizing respect for its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and non-interference in its internal affairs,\u201d the joint statement read.<\/p>\n<div id=\"vdo_ai_div-0\">\n<div id=\"_vdo_ads_player_ai_1334\" class=\"vdo_floating\">\n<div class=\"vjs-poster\">\u201cThey called for an inclusive and representative government, and respect for the rights of women, children and minorities,\u201d the statement added.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"vjs-poster\">Reaffirming the UNSC Resolution 2593, which was adopted in 2021, the two countries also emphasized that there should be \u201czero tolerance for the use of Afghan territory for spreading terrorism in other parts of the world,\u201d while also agreeing to work together in this regard, including at the UN Security Council.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The UN resolution 2593 which was adopted by the UN Security Council (UNSC) on August 31, 2021, just days after the Taliban takeover of Kabul, demands that Afghan territory not be used to threaten or attack any other country or to shelter and train terrorists, reported ANI.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the situation of human rights in Afghanistan has worsened since the collapse of the Afghan government and the Taliban\u2019s return to power in August last year.
