KABUL (SW) –\u00a0The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has facilitated women on the International Women’s Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ministry said in a statement that the long wars in Afghanistan have harmed women in the country.<\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Islamic Emirate is committed to addressing the problems of Afghan women and providing them with a dignified life in the light of Islam and in accordance with the accepted customs and values of the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier in day, Amnesty International said on International Women\u2019s Day that the petition, which calls for states to prioritize, monitor and support women\u2019s and girl\u2019s rights in Afghanistan, has been delivered to governments across the globe.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last six months, the Taliban have systematically discriminated against women and girls by introducing policies that have severely restricted women\u2019s freedom of movement and expression and undermined girls\u2019 access to education and employment. In the space of just half a year, they have eroded two decades of women\u2019s contributions to the country,\u201d said Yamini Mishra, Amnesty International\u2019s South Asia Director.<\/article>\n
