KABUL (SW) –\u00a0Officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have denied a UN report that 100 members of the former government’s security forces have been killed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate and Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, wrote on Twitter today that no one is allowed to harm anyone after the amnesty was announced by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate. He also said that if any “incident” occurred as a result of personal revenge, the Islamic Emirate would investigate it and arrest the perpetrators.<\/p>\n

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres wrote in a report to the Security Council that the organization has obtained \u201ccredible allegations\u201d that upwards of 100 individuals from the Afghan government, its security forces and others who aided international\u00a0forces have been killed since the Taliban seized control of the country in August, according to\u00a0The Associated Press, which obtained the report.<\/p>\n

Guterres said \u201cmore than two-thirds\u201d of those killed were allegedly executed by the Taliban or those associated with the insurgent group through extrajudicial killings, according to the AP.<\/p>\n

The Taliban previously said that individuals connected to the previous US-backed government and American military units would receive \u201cgeneral amnesties.”<\/p>\n

The secretary general also revealed that the U.N.\u2019s political mission in Afghanistan had acquired \u201ccredible allegations of extrajudicial killings of at least 50 individuals suspected of affiliation with ISIL-KP,\u201d the acronym for the Islamic State’s affiliate in Afghanistan, according to the news wire.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the organization has obtained credible allegations \u201cof enforced disappearances and other violations impacting the right to life and physical integrity\u201d involving individuals who were associated with the previous government, Guterres wrote in the report.<\/p>\n

The secretary general\u2019s report to the Security Council comes more the five months after the Taliban seized control of Kabul, toppling the Afghan government as the U.S. and NATO forces were completing their withdrawal from the country<\/p>\n
