{"id":7517,"date":"2021-12-22T13:36:43","date_gmt":"2021-12-22T13:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=7517"},"modified":"2021-12-22T13:36:43","modified_gmt":"2021-12-22T13:36:43","slug":"air-pollution-in-kabul-hits-new-toxic-levels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2021\/12\/air-pollution-in-kabul-hits-new-toxic-levels\/","title":{"rendered":"Air pollution in Kabul hits new toxic levels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KABUL (SW) &#8211; Health experts have warned citizens of the dangerous effects of increasing air pollution in the capital city, Kabul.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Experts have dubbed Kabul&#8217;s air pollution deadly and say that the level of air pollution has reached its highest and worst levels in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>Zahed Alizay, a doctor in Kabul, told Salam Watandar that air pollution in the country kills thousands of people every year and fears that this year&#8217;s winter air pollution will affect the people of Kabul even more.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Air pollution affects the skin, hair, heart, lungs and even kidney because the air we breathe is absorbed together with oxygen through the lungs and enters the bloodstream.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fayyaz Safi, another physician, emphasizes that breathing polluted and toxic air increases the risk of various diseases and even causes death.<\/p>\n<p>Doctors advise residents of the capital to reduce the use of unrefined coal and other sources of smoke in order to avoid the dangers of air pollution.<\/p>\n<p>However, a number of citizens are proposing solutions to reduce the risk of air pollution, such as using masks outdoors and reducing the use of smoke sources.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, according to the Ministry of Public Health, about 5,000 people died of respiratory and heart diseases in the country.
