KABUL (SW) – The Taliban officials in Afghanistan on Sunday oversaw maiden flight carrying pine nuts to China as part of the air corridor for trade between the two countries.<\/p>\n
The flight departed in the presence of Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Zabihullah Mujahid, Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Nooruddin Aziz, Acting Minister of Trade and Industry and other participants.<\/p>\n
Salam Hanafi told a news conference that the air corridor between Afghanistan and China had been established without the cooperation of any foreign country, and that it would generate more than $ 1 billion in revenue.<\/p>\n
Nur al-Din Aziz, acting head of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, said that flights officially began today to export pine nut to China, and that they would spare no effort to facilitate trade.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy minister of information and culture and spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said that 45,000 tonnes of pine nut would be exported to China this year and would ultimately surge to 100,000 tonnes next year.<\/p>\n
Officials of the Islamic Emirate emphasized that they are ready for any cooperation with businessmen and stressed that the TAPI project between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan will be implemented in the near future.<\/p>\n
