{"id":6771,"date":"2021-10-24T10:25:21","date_gmt":"2021-10-24T10:25:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=6771"},"modified":"2021-10-24T10:25:21","modified_gmt":"2021-10-24T10:25:21","slug":"un-calls-for-preventing-economic-collapse-of-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2021\/10\/un-calls-for-preventing-economic-collapse-of-afghanistan\/","title":{"rendered":"UN calls for preventing economic collapse of Afghanistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KABUL (SW) \u2013 Chief of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan has urged all entities in Afghanistan to prevent an economic collapse of the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a series of meetings in Kabul with key Taliban leaders, the UNAMA head Deborah Lyons discussed the deepening economic and humanitarian crisis, as well as human rights concerns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UN in #Afghanistan continues to ramp up delivery of life-saving aid but UN envoy highlighted that all entities must do everything possible to prevent an economic collapse. There is a need for inclusive governance &amp; protection of the rights of all Afghans, women &amp; men\u201d, tweeted the UNAMA.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Office of the Head of Cabinet Ministers of the Islamic Emirate issued a statement saying that the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan had met with Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi. During the meeting, Hanafi said that the Islamic Emirate is determined to work closely and reach an understanding with the international community, especially the United Nations, it said.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added the Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate said that they will provide the necessary facilities, including security, to the UN offices in Afghanistan and will welcome useful and positive consultations of this organization.<\/p>\n<p>Hanafi called on the United Nations and the international community to strengthen the new Afghan government, especially its banking system, in order to increase co-operation with the world.
