MONITORING (SW) \u2013 The UN Security Council does not support \u201cthe restoration of the Islamic Emirate\u201d in Afghanistan, a statement said Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe members of the Security Council recognized that a sustainable peace can be achieved only through a comprehensive and inclusive Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace process,\u201d said the statement, adding that an inclusive, just and realistic political settlement can end the conflict in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n \u201cThe members of the Security Council recalled resolution 2513 (2020), reaffirmed that there is no military solution to the conflict, and declared that they do not support the restoration of the Islamic Emirate,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n The Security Council also condemned the attacks against civilians, UN personnel and UN compounds, stressing that such attacks \u201cmay constitute war crimes,\u201d and called on all parties \u201cto respect their obligations under international humanitarian law in all circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n Afghanistan has called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on escalation of war and humanitarian crisis here.<\/p>\n Foreign minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar said in Kabul on Tuesday that the issue of ensuring human rights and preventing their violation is a shared responsibility of Afghanistan and the international community.<\/p>\n He added that the international community must work with Afghanistan immediately and stand by the country and stop the current war as soon as possible.
