{"id":4944,"date":"2021-06-17T11:47:09","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T11:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=4944"},"modified":"2021-06-17T11:47:09","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T11:47:09","slug":"covid-19-kills-101-patients-infects-2313-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2021\/06\/covid-19-kills-101-patients-infects-2313-more\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 kills 101 patients, infects 2313"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KABUL (SW) \u2013 The Ministry of Public Health announced on Thursday that 101 people lost their lives to COVID-19 and 2,313 more got infected in the past 24 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It said the new cases have been obtained from 6,092 samples.<\/p>\n<p>According to official statistics, the death toll overnight has been unprecedented since the beginning of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As per official figures, the number of infected people has reached 98,844 and the number of dead has reached 3,943.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, <em>a new study by the Afghan Institute of Strategic Studies said\u00a0<\/em>60% of participants indicated they had problems satisfying food needs partly during the COVID-19 pandemic. It said most of the participants had to seek financial assistance and loans from their friends, relatives, colleagues and communities (47.9%) during the lockdown.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2021\/06\/07\/us-to-provide-4-oxygen-plants-to-afghanistan\/\">The US to provide 4 oxygen plants to Afghanistan <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2021\/06\/16\/record-1722-new-covid-19-infections-in-24-hours\/\">Record 1722 new COVID-19 infections in 24 hours\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The study also find that approximately, half of participants believed that the government was successful in applying lockdown measures and in awareness raising during COVID-19 pandemic in Afghanistan. 44.2% of respondents believed that the government was successful in providing isolation centers in the mentioned period.<\/p>\n<p>However, most of them were not satisfied in terms of the provision of treatment services, referral\/ambulance services, death management services, or food and essential needs to poor families by the government during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>More than half of the participants believed that the risk and threats of COVID-19 disease are very high. Also, same level believe that they 5 have not contracted COVID-19 yet. More than 80% of participants said that they will go for a lab test for detection of the virus as well as COVID-19 vaccination if it becomes available.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/swn.english\">Follow Us on Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SWN_English\">Follow Us on Twitter<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Almost 67% of participants reported that they will not go to meetings, religious activities, events and other social gathering or any crowded places if community transmission of COVID-19 exists.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of respondents were neutral or disagree with the idea that there is no COVID-19 virus, and it is just a story devised by profit seeking companies and individuals.
