{"id":3929,"date":"2021-04-06T14:24:06","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T14:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=3929"},"modified":"2021-04-06T14:24:06","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T14:24:06","slug":"president-ghani-unveils-peace-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2021\/04\/president-ghani-unveils-peace-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"President Ghani unveils peace strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KABUL (SW) \u2013 President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday shared details of the proposed peace plan with senior officials at the presidency.<\/p>\n<p>The presidency said the details of this strategy would be aired by the state broadcaster RTA on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Reuters reported President Ghani\u2019s plan will be presented as a counter to proposals put forward by Washington, rejected by the Afghan government, that envisage immediately drawing up a new legal system for an interim administration to include Taliban representatives.<\/p>\n<p>The document shows Ghani\u2019s \u201cReaching an Endstate\u201d proposal will include, in the first phase, a consensus on a political settlement and an internationally monitored ceasefire.<\/p>\n<p>The second phase will be holding a presidential election and the establishment of a \u201cgovernment of peace\u201d and implementation arrangements for moving towards the new political system.<\/p>\n<p>The third phase will involve building a \u201cconstitutional framework, reintegration of refugees and development\u201d for Afghanistan moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>A senior government official told Reuters Ghani has already shared his road map with foreign capitals.
