A Taliban commander Mulla Tor Jan was believed to be in charge of the Taliban in this area.<\/p>\n<p>The operation was launched in the district on Tuesday night and continued until Wednesday morning, said the source.<\/p>\n<p>These credible local sources added that during the destruction of this Taliban base, several Iranian-made bombs exploded. Herat security and local officials have not commented.<\/p>\n<p>The army\u2019s 207 \u2013 Zafar Corps in the west of the country has confirmed the launch of operations in Adraskan district by publishing a newsletter, but has not said anything about the discovery of Iranian-made military equipment and Revolutionary Guards uniforms from the Taliban base.<\/p>\n<p>It said in a statement that as a result of this operation, the Taliban information system in Adraskan district was destroyed and 5 suspects with information equipment were arrested by the security forces. During the operation, which lasted for several hours, a number of villages in the district were cleared of Taliban fighters while ammunition and vehicles were seized by government forces, it added.<\/p>\n<p>We could not obtain the views of the Iranian consulate in Herat in this regard.
