KANDAHAR (SW) \u2013 Reports emerging from Kandahar suggest at least 12 members of a family were killed in an airstrike by security forces in Arghandab district.<\/p>\n
The attack is said to have taken place last night\u00a0 in the Sabz village of Arghandab district.<\/p>\n
Abdul Samad, a relative of the affected family, said that three women, two men and seven children from the same family were killed in the airstrike.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a source in Arghandab district, who did not want to be identified, told Salam Watandar that the attack took place after a Taliban group had gathered near the house. According to the source, the house also collapsed following the attack.<\/p>\n
Residents of Arghandab district wished to stage a demonstration along with the bodies of the victims in front of the Kandahar governor’s office, but were stopped by police.<\/p>\n
So far, the officials in Kandahar have not commented on the airstrike.<\/p>\n
