{"id":22467,"date":"2024-08-13T04:58:29","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T04:58:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=22467"},"modified":"2024-08-13T04:59:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T04:59:33","slug":"468-development-projects-completed-in-a-year-says-mopw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2024\/08\/468-development-projects-completed-in-a-year-says-mopw\/","title":{"rendered":"468 development projects completed in a year, says MoPW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KABUL (SW) &#8211; At least 468 development projects, including the reconstruction of the Kabul-Jalalabad highway and reconstruction of the &#8220;Nani&#8221; culvert in Ghazni province, and some other projects have been completed in the past one year, said officials in the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) during the one-year performance report presentation. <\/strong><strong>The program held on Monday, in Kabul.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to officials from the ministry, of these development projects, 85 were executed by the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul Karim Fateh, Technical Deputy Minister of Public Works, said, &#8220;24 more projects are currently underway. Additionally, the repair and resurfacing of 1,698 kilometers of asphalt roads have been completed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry also revealed that contracts for the construction and reconstruction of 1,000 kilometers of roads were signed over the past year. This includes ongoing work on the Kabul-Kandahar highway and the Salang Pass highway, which are both divided into multiple sections for more effective management.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, mentioned, &#8220;The Kabul-Kandahar highway is under contract with a construction company and is progressing in 13 sections, while the Salang Pass highway is divided into three sections, with work ongoing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, the ministry plans to install traffic signs along major highways and activate 17 high-capacity weigh stations at customs facilities.
