KABUL (SW) – At least five people dead and 15 others were injured in an explosion in the west of Kabul city on the Saturday evening, confirmed officials.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Khaled Zadran, the spokesperson for the Kabul Security Command said that the explosion targeted a coaster type car in Dasht-e Barchi, the west of Kabul.<\/p>\n

The wounded were taken to the hospital and the police are investigating, Zadran added.<\/p>\n

According to the residents, the explosion occurred at 6:20 P.M. in the Qala-e Nazer area.<\/p>\n

The families of the victims from the recent explosion in Dasht-e Barchi appeal to the de-facto government, urging them to secure the safety of the residents in the western part of Kabul. They also call for the identification and punishment of those responsible for the incident.<\/p>\n

Masuma, whose son Mohammad Ali fell victim to the explosion, says that at 26 years old, he had recently halted his studies and forced to work to support his family of eight, driven by economic hardships. \u201cThe government should ensure our safety; if not, let us leave. If the Emirate is committed to providing security, it should do so properly; otherwise, it should then do nothing,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Ahmad Taqi, whose two cousins were seriously injured in the explosion and are now in the hospital, says: “My cousins were vendors in Pol-e sorkh and injured in the explosion. We ask the Islamic Emirate to pay more attention to security.\u201d<\/p>\n

Esmatullah, whose family member was injured in the recent explosion, also says: \u201cPeople cannot freely leave their homes and engage in their daily activities.\u201d The fear of not knowing whether they will return safely in the evening looms over them. \u201cThe government must pay attention and arrest the responsible and ensure they face legal consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, provides assurance to the families of the victims of the recent explosion that the perpetrators will soon be promptly identified and punished.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Islamic Emirate shares its deep feelings for the bereaved families and promises to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice,\u201d Mujahid said.<\/p>\n

However, the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) has claimed the responsibility for this explosion.<\/p>\n
