KABUL (SW) \u2013 A day after armed assailants attacked the Kabul University, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, NATO and an array of rights groups and diplomatic missions condemned the attack.<\/p>\n
The Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a statement on Tuesday saying that the organization condemns and rejects all forms of violence, terrorism and extremism.<\/p>\n
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and stressed the importance of unified front against the so-called Islamic State group.<\/p>\n
In connection with the national day of mourning declared by the Afghan government over the Kabul University massacre, all diplomatic missions hoisted their national flags at half-mast on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The attack on the university by armed assailants also provoked a sharp reaction from citizens. A number of Kabul University students gathered at the entrance in response to the killing of their colleagues and called for a halt to peace talks with the Taliban.<\/p>\n
This comes as Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, has said there was evidence that the attack was carried out by the Taliban.<\/p>\n
The group has, however, rejected their involvement in this attack as the so-called Islamic State took responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n
As a result of the armed attack on Kabul University, 19 students got killed and 42 others got injured.<\/p>\n
