QALAT (SW) – A number of residents of Zabul are demanding the construction of a highway connecting the five districts of the province and the center “Qalat” city with neighboring Pakistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents of these district told Salam Watandar that if this highway is constructed, the center of Qalat city will be provided with transport facilities and trade with Pakistan along the Durand Line will be developed.<\/p>\n

This highway, which connects Zabul’s Sayori, Shinkai, Atghar, Nobhar and Shalmazi districts and the center of Qalat city with Pakistan, has a length of about 94 kilometers.
\nAccording to the residents of these districts, after the repair of this road, many residents of Zabul will be provided with job opportunities in different fields.<\/p>\n

Sher Mohammad, a resident of Zabul, said: “You know better that our highway has been built up to the foothills in the last 20 years. After that, it is raw till the market, Shamalzo district and till the border. Shenkai district and four other districts benefit from this highway.”<\/p>\n

On the other hand, a number of businessmen of Zabul consider the reconstruction of the said highway to be beneficial for the society and foreign trade, and according to them, this road will have a positive effect on all the residents of the entire province.<\/p>\n

A businessman, Haji Mohammad Hashim Mukhawal, said: “This highway connects five districts, including the center of Qalat, with a neighboring country, Pakistan, and it is natural that with the construction of this road, there will be an increase in exports and imports. It will open the way to other countries and will have a positive impact on the economy of the people of Zabul.”<\/p>\n

At the same time, the director of public affairs of Zabul, Ahmed Ahmadi, although confirmed the problems of the people related to this road, but according to him, the government has started new efforts for the construction of this highway.\u00a0He said: “This is an area of approximately 94 kilometers that has no road. Now we have appointed a company for the construction of this road to build a 30 km road instead of mining. We have two other parts of the road in the plan, which will be repaired.”<\/p>\n
