NIMROZ (SW) \u2013 A senior government source in Nimroz has said at least 23 security forces got killed in a Taliban attack on an army base in the province.<\/p>\n
The source, who did not want to be identified, told Salam Watandar that the incident took place at around 10:00 last night in the Deh Mazang area on the Delaram – Khashroud highway in Nimroz province.<\/p>\n
According to the source, 23 army personnel were killed in the attack and 3 others were captured by the Taliban. The source added that the Taliban had taken away all the military equipment with them.<\/p>\n
According to the source, the Taliban had attacked the camp several times in recent months in order to seize it, and finally captured it last night.<\/p>\n
The source accused army officials and the governor of Nimroz of failing to manage the fighting in the province, saying that reinforcements had not arrived at the base in time.<\/p>\n
We could not get the opinion of the security officials in Nimroz in this regard.<\/p>\n
But, the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack via a video.<\/p>\n
