KABUL (SW) – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, has said that the recent report of the analysis and monitoring team of the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee is “one-sided, unbalanced and far from reality”. <\/strong><\/p>\n

He added that such reports and the continuation of UN Security Council sanctions are “full of prejudice and in conflict with the principles of independence and non-interference.”<\/p>\n

The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate has stated in a statement that “baseless” accusations against the Islamic Emirate are reflected in the report of the United Nations Security Council. He said that the claims of differences between the officials of the Islamic Emirate, the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, the involvement of members of the Islamic Emirate in drug trafficking, and the monopoly of power by this government, are “baseless and open hostility to the people and the independent system, and a repetition of the useless and biased propaganda of the past 20 years.”<\/p>\n

The analysis and monitoring team of the United Nations Security Council Sanction Committee recently said in a report that the authorities of the Islamic Emirate have returned to the “tyrannical Pashtun-centric” policies of the 1990s. In a part of this report, this team said that the difference between the officials of the Islamic Emirate regarding the division of positions in the structure of the government and local administrations is also significant.<\/p>\n

It is further stated that the main gap in the leadership of the Islamic Emirate is between the factions that represent the power bases of Kandahar and Kabul. According to it, among them are Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Interior Affairs and Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, Acting Minister of National Defense in Kabul and clerics loyal to Hebatullah Akhundzada in Kabul and Kandahar.<\/p>\n

In this report, the authorities of the Islamic Emirate are accused of not complying with the Doha Agreement to cut ties with terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda. According to the report, the relationship between the Islamic Emirate and the groups of Al-Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan are strong.<\/p>\n

The analysis and monitoring team of the United Nations Security Council Sanction Committee has stated in its report that there are signs that Al-Qaeda is reviving its operational capability and that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is carrying out its attacks inside Pakistan with the support of the Islamic Emirate forces.<\/p>\n

Commenting on this, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate has said that he strongly rejects the report’s assessment that the Islamic Emirate helps the opposition of neighboring countries and the region or uses Afghan soil against other countries. He has claimed that from the content of this report it appears that either the authors do not have access to information, or they intentionally distort the facts, or they are the source of information for the fugitive opponents of the Islamic Emirate.<\/p>\n

Zabihullah Mujahid added that the authorities of the Islamic Emirate emphasize that they are bound by their obligations and guarantee that there is no threat from Afghanistan’s soil to the neighboring countries, the region and the world. He emphasized that the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs in Afghanistan has decreased drastically.<\/p>\n
