This group wrote: \u201cIslamic State fighters were able to detonate a car bomb near the car of the deputy governor of Badakhshan in the city of Faizabad,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy governor of northern Badakhshan province was killed by a car bomb on Tuesday, the provincial spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article-body__container__3ypuX\">\n<div class=\"article-body__content__17Yit\">\n<p class=\"text__text__1FZLe text__dark-grey__3Ml43 text__regular__2N1Xr text__large__nEccO body__full_width__ekUdw body__large_body__FV5_X article-body__element__2p5pI\" data-testid=\"paragraph-1\">\u201cNissar Ahmad Ahmadi, with his driver, has been killed and six civilians were injured,\u201d said Mahzudeen Ahmadi, the head of the information office of Badakshan, a province in the far north of the country that shares a border with China and Tajikistan. It was not clear who was behind the bombing, which was the first known major blast or attack on a Taliban official in Afghanistan in several weeks, reported Reuters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text__text__1FZLe text__dark-grey__3Ml43 text__regular__2N1Xr text__large__nEccO body__full_width__ekUdw body__large_body__FV5_X article-body__element__2p5pI\" data-testid=\"paragraph-1\">The Taliban administration has been carrying out raids against members of Islamic State, which had claimed several major attacks in urban centres, it reported.
