{"id":13131,"date":"2023-01-04T21:03:06","date_gmt":"2023-01-04T21:03:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=13131"},"modified":"2023-01-04T21:03:06","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T21:03:06","slug":"afghan-businessmen-blame-pakistan-for-causing-hurdles-in-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2023\/01\/afghan-businessmen-blame-pakistan-for-causing-hurdles-in-trade\/","title":{"rendered":"Afghan businessmen blame Pakistan for causing hurdles in trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KABUL (SW) &#8211;\u00a0Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries officials have blamed Pakistan for stopping its hundreds of goods carrying container trucks at the Karachi port for inflated tariffs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Afghan businessmen said that the Pakistani authorities have charged two to three times the price for the goods of Afghan traders since two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammad Younis Mohmand, head of the ACCI, said during a press conference on Wednesday that since two weeks, hundreds of containers have been stopped at the port of Karachi, and this has caused economic losses to Afghan businessmen.<\/p>\n<p>He demanded Pakistan to provide more facilities for Afghan businessmen. The ACCI also asked the Islamic Emirate to do the same in response to the stoppage of Afghan traders&#8217; goods in the port of Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want Pakistan to provide more facilities to Afghan traders and if the stoppage of our containers continues, we will have to get alternative routes to Karachi port,&#8221; said Khanjan Alkozi, head of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industries.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade say that they are talking to the Pakistani authorities to solve these problems.<\/p>\n<p>Abdulsalam Javad, the spokesman of this ministry, said: &#8220;A number of officials of the Islamic Emirate are talking with Pakistani officials to solve this challenge, and this problem will be solved soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, the ACCI officials said that today nearly 500 containers of commercial goods from Indonesia and Malaysia, which were supposed to enter Afghanistan via Karachi port, have now been diverted to Iran.<\/p>\n<p>ENDS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL (SW) &#8211;\u00a0Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries officials have blamed Pakistan for stopping its hundreds of goods carrying container trucks at the Karachi port for inflated tariffs.
