{"id":12687,"date":"2022-11-19T12:15:17","date_gmt":"2022-11-19T12:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/?p=12687"},"modified":"2022-11-19T12:22:39","modified_gmt":"2022-11-19T12:22:39","slug":"call-for-dialogue-between-women-and-the-islamic-emirate-authorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/en\/2022\/11\/call-for-dialogue-between-women-and-the-islamic-emirate-authorities\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for dialogue between women and the Islamic Emirate authorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MONITORING (SW) &#8211; The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has reiterated the need for dialogue between women and the Islamic Emirate authorities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UNAMA issued a statement saying that as per the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, it has begun gatherings with the presence of women in a number of Afghan provinces.<\/p>\n<p>According to the UNAMA report, it has discussed with the women who participated in these gatherings about the imperative need for their meaningful participation in decision-making, protection against violence, access to education, work and justice.<\/p>\n<p>Marks Putzel, the United Nations Special Representative for Afghanistan, said in a program in Kabul that the United Nations always reminds the authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan&#8217;s obligations in the human rights and women&#8217;s rights conventions.<\/p>\n<p>UNAMA said that the women in Kabul asked the United Nations to facilitate a dialogue between them and the Islamic Emirate and help restore their basic rights, increase economic and educational opportunities, and preserve the achievements of women.<\/p>\n<p>The UNAMA report stated that the women&#8217;s recent talks resulted in a list of recommendations to the international community, the Islamic Emirate and the women themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Women have asked the United Nations and the international community to create a communication mechanism that allows women to share their issues with the authorities of the Islamic Emirate.<\/p>\n<p>Women in Herat have said that now, gender discrimination against women and their exclusion from decision-making mechanisms is systematically practiced.<\/p>\n<p>Women in Kunduz have asked the Islamic Emirate to set an example for other Islamic countries that provide access to education for women and girls of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>With the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, restrictions have been imposed on women&#8217;s lives in Afghanistan and some of their social rights have been taken away from them.<\/p>\n<p>For more than a year, female students above the sixth grade have stopped going to school.<\/p>\n<p>ENDS<!--\/data\/user\/0\/com.samsung.android.app.notes\/files\/clipdata\/clipdata_bodytext_221119_231005_316.sdocx--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MONITORING (SW) &#8211; The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has reiterated the need for dialogue between women and the Islamic Emirate authorities.
