MONITORING (SW) – Latest developments in Afghanistan and regional threats were on the agenda of the fourth Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by advisers and secretaries of the National Security Council of India, China, Iran, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n

India on Friday called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan and strengthening of the war-torn country\u2019s capability to counter terrorism and terror groups that pose a threat to regional peace and security.<\/p>\n

New Delhi\u2019s position was outlined by national security advisor Ajit Doval at the fourth Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan that was attended by counterparts from China, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, reported Hindustan Times.<\/p>\n

During Friday\u2019s meeting, Doval made it clear that India \u201cwas and is an important stakeholder in Afghanistan\u201d and the country\u2019s special relationship with the Afghan people over centuries will guide its approach to the situation and \u201cnothing can change this\u201d.<\/p>\n

India has historical and civilisational ties with Afghanistan, and has always stood by the Afghan people, and these factors will continue to guide New Delhi\u2019s approach, he said.<\/p>\n

At the third Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan, the countries had adopted the Delhi Declaration that said Afghan territory should not be used for sheltering, training, planning or financing any terror acts. It also stressed the need to form an open and truly inclusive government that represents the will of all the people of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
