KABUL (SW) – On the occasion of the Independence Day, the Islamic Emirate has vowed to defend the national interests of Afghanistan.
Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, Acting Minister of Defense of the Islamic Emirate, said today at the ceremony celebrating the 133rd Independence Day that no one’s dictation will be accepted against Islamic values.
“Independence and freedom are the most important and greatest needs of life, and Afghans have proven throughout history that the life of slavery is unacceptable for them.”
Acting Minister of Defense emphasized that he is ready to interact with anyone, but he does not accept orders from anyone against Islamic values and national interests.
Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid said: “The enemy is trying to create division among us to achieve its sinister goals but cannot reach its goals.”
“We fought for 20 years to end the occupation, so there’s no way we’re going to lose it,” he added. “There are political and economic problems, but we cannot accept anyone’s orders against Islamic values. National interests should be preferred over personal interests. We don’t want to live in the shadow of another.”
The independence day was celebrated today at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense with the participation of the officials of the Islamic Emirate.
Afghans celebrated the day in various provinces as well.
