Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan facing tough times

MONITORING (SW) – A number of Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan have complained about tough living conditions in these countries.

In interviews with Salam Watandar, they said that the authorities do not pay attention to the problems of the refugees.

After the establishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, the number of Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan has increased once again.

According to the Afghan refugees in Pakistan, economic problems, visa and lack of a suitable place to live have made them face problems and they are in a difficult situation.

On the other hand, some Afghan refugees in Iran say that the situation of these refugees is getting worse every day.

Zahir Seragh, a journalist and one of the Afghan refugees in Pakistan, says that the process of transferring them to the destination countries is not going well. He hopes that the process of transferring them to the destination country will be done well.

At the same time, a number of Afghan refugees in Iran have also complained to the country’s authorities, saying that the Iranian police is returning Afghan refugees to Afghanistan these days.

Zafar Momand, a journalist and one of the Afghan refugees in Iran, told Salaam Watandar that although some Afghan refugees have residence cards or birth certificates in this country, the Iranian police arrest them and transfer them to Afghanistan.

The Afghan refugees want the authorities of Pakistan, Iran and international organizations to pay attention to their problems instead of making excuses.

In connection with the problems of Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan, we wanted to have the opinion of the officials of the Ministry of Migrants and Returnees; However, the spokesperson of this ministry did not agree to provide his opinion despite repeated calls.

Before this, the Afghan officials discussed these problems with the officials of Pakistan, Iran and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, but it seems that their discussion did not lead to any results.
