Islamic Emirate reacts to gathering of politicians in Turkey

KABUL (SW) – In the wake of a gathering of a number of Afghan politicians in Turkey, the Islamic Emirate has asserted it would not allow any provocation.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said in response to a greeting from a meeting of Afghan politicians in Turkey that such moves would be welcomed if it was for peace and stability in Afghanistan and would confront it if it was for the destabilization of Afghanistan. .

“If it is in the interest of the Afghan people, we are also trying to strengthen our contact, to reach out to those who have left Afghanistan,” Mujahid added. “But if any action is provocative, the people of Afghanistan will not allow it and we will stand against it.”

On Tuesday night, a number of Afghan politicians gathered in Ankara, Turkey, under the name of the Supreme Council of National Resistance to Save Afghanistan, to decide on the situation in Afghanistan.

Members of the newly formed Supreme Council of National Resistance to Save Afghanistan have issued a statement legitimizing resistance to the Islamic Emirate, saying that the continuation of the Islamic Emirate will lead to deteriorating humanitarian conditions, drug trafficking, increased migration and Afghanistan becoming a safe haven for terrorists.

In part, the statement called on the Islamic Emirate to hold talks with them to resolve the Afghan crisis. Ehsan Nero, spokesman for the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, told Salam Watandar that the meeting was held to get out of the current situation in Afghanistan.

“The participants of this meeting discussed and exchanged views with a positive view and with positive plans to get out of the challenge in Afghanistan,” he added.

However, Noorshah Nourani and Hamidullah Hotak, two political analysts, say that in order to resolve the political crisis, the two sides must reach a positive outcome through dialogue. He added that the Islamic Emirate should pave the way for talks with the Supreme Council of National Resistance to save Afghanistan.
