Analysts fear for proxy wars in Afghanistan

KABUL (SW) – Analysts fear Afghanistan might yet again become battlefield for regional and global proxy wars.

A number of political analysts are concerned about Afghanistan being transformed into a center of international and regional competition. They say that given the current situation, some neighboring countries and the region, such as Turkey and Tajikistan, are hosting opponents of the Islamic Emirate, and a number of Western countries are investing in the opposition to disrupt security in northern Afghanistan to establish ties with the ISIS and strengthen other terrorist groups.

Gul Mohammad Gulzay, an expert on political issues, called the current situation in the country tense, saying that the Islamic Emirate has no internal or external recognition and that its relations with a number of neighboring countries are not good. He added that Afghanistan would be in serious danger if it did not take immediate steps to improve relations with the international community and gain internal and external legitimacy.

“The international community is hearing from various media outlets that London wants to give Dostum $ 250 million to make the northern provinces insecure and recruit them, which is another big project that makes Afghanistan insecure and makes its northern neighbors insecure,” said Gulzoy”.

However, the Islamic Emirate has always said that it has domestic legitimacy and good relations with foreign countries.

Fazlur Rehman Oriya, another political analyst, says the Islamic Emirate must vigorously defend the country’s territorial integrity and improve its relations with the international community and neighboring countries based on national interests to prevent aggression by neighboring countries.

He added that a number of former government officials in the past and now have ties to ISIS and are being funded by the United States and Britain. Fazlur Rehman Oriya says that ISIS is still trying to destabilize the region, but to fight in this sector, the countries of the region must stand by Afghanistan.

Concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the region, especially in Afghanistan, have risen as suicide bombings and explosions have taken place in Kabul, Balkh and Kunduz provinces in recent days, killing and wounding dozens of civilians.
