Head of Salam Watandar partner radio arrested in Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY ( SW) – The local head of a Salam Watandar radio network partner station in Kandahar has been kept in custody by the forces of the Islamic Emirate for hours before being released.

The intelligence services of the Islamic Emirate on Monday morning attacked the local radio station Sanga, a partner radio of Salam Watandar in Kandahar, and arrested the person in charge of this radio station.

Agashir Minar, the head of the local radio station, told Salam Watandar that he had been arrested after the Islamic Emirate’s intelligence forces raided the media office. He added that he had been detained for seven hours and had been released after signing a letter of consent.

According to Aghashir Minar, this letter urges him not to broadcast music on the radio. He stated that the pledge was also signed by officials of other local radio stations in Kandahar.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to this local radio station, the intelligence forces of the Islamic Emirate also attacked other local station such as Tabassum, Zama Wa Mellat Zagh in Kandahar on Monday morning and arrested some of the employees of these radio stations.
