Turkmenistan delegation in Kabul for talks on power transmission

KABUL (SW) – A senior-level official delegation from Turkmenistan visited Kabul on Monday to hold talks with the Afghan officials on power transmission matters.

A delegation from the Turkmen Ministry of Energy  arrived in Kabul to expedite the legal and technical work of power projects, including the TAPI project,  Afghanistan’s power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat said in a press release.

DABS said the company’s leadership met with a Turkmen delegation today.

According to the power utility, it’s CEO Hafiz Mohammad Amin told the meeting that Turkmenistan was a good partner of the company in electricity projects.

Amin expressed hope that the creation of a joint road-map will accelerate the work of power projects, in particular the Noor al-Jihad substation and the TAPI project.

According to the newsletter, Murad Artikov, head of Turkmenistan’s international energy projects for Afghanistan and Pakistan, said the strengthening of relations between DABS and the Turkmen Ministry of Energy was one of the main goals of the Turkmen delegation’s visit to Kabul. He said that in close coordination and cooperation with DABS, the work on transmission line projects will advance.

DABS said that various teams from Afghanistan and the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan will meet and in the coming days to discuss all legal and technical issues of the power projects, after which the two sides will sign protocols and contracts.
