Submission of new applications for passports suspended in Kapisa

KAPISA (SW) – The submission of new applications for passports has been suspended in Kapisa provinc after overwhelming numbers of requests in the province.

After the General Directorate of Passports of the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ordered the resumption of distribution of passports to its applicants in 10 provinces, including Kapisa, local officials in the province said 6,000 passport applications were submitted in the past week in Kapisa.

Rumi Karimullah Wasiq, head of information and culture of the Islamic Emirate for Kapisa, confirmed this to Salam Watandar and said that by registering this number of applications, the lack of facilities and human resources in the passport distribution process and preventing people from wandering have led to stopping the process of obtaining new applications.

He added that the passport distribution capacity in the Kapisa Passport Administration is 100 to 150 volumes per day and they will resume the process of obtaining new applications at the end of the passport distribution to 6,000 registered applications.

, Kapisa residents, especially passport applicants, are calling for increased capacity in the passport distribution process.
