‘Taliban attending international meetings without preparations, planning’

KABUL (SW) – A number of political analysts believe that officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan are attending international meetings without any preparations and planning.

In conversations with Salam Watandar, they aadded hat the officials of the Islamic Emirate do not have a clear agenda for international meetings and do not have a pre-determined and efficient program.

Khaplavak Zazi, a political and international relations expert, said that the officials of the Islamic Emirate do not know what to discuss and what to prioritize in meetings with officials from other countries and representatives of international organizations.

“Before they raise their awareness and make clear what is needed and how they should act, they go and just say, ‘recognize us.’ They are not getting officially recognized in this way. For that, priorities must be created, a plan must be made, and the opposite side must be satisfied.”

Seyyed Baqir Mohseni, another political scientist, believes that the Islamic Emirate has been involved in war for many years and is more proficient in the military than in politics. According to Mohseni, for this reason, the Islamic Emirate is facing serious problems in the field of international relations and also in relations with other countries.

The remarks come as the delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaqi, left for Doha, Qatar, last week for talks with representatives of Europe and the United States.

The State Department has said it will discuss with officials at the Islamic Emirate the fight against terrorism, humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, the country’s economic situation and the safe exit of American citizens and Afghan citizens who have worked with the United States.

But, the Islamic Emirate spokesmen says the Doha agreement, the freeing of Afghanistan’s monetary resources and the continuation of US diplomatic activity in Afghanistan are among the topics of discussion.
