Over 50 people arrested on charges of forging passports

MONITORING (SW) – Authorities of the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan announced to have arrested over 50 people in connection with forging passports.

The Ministry of the Interior Affairs has announced that it has arrested 60 people for forging passports.

In a statement issued on Monday, it said the security forces have arrested 60 people, including the employees of the Passport General Directorate in this connection. The detainees are charged with printing counterfeit passports as well as fake threat letters from the addresses of the Islamic Emirate of the Taliban.

It should be noted that the General Directorate of the Passport last night announced that due to technical problems on bio-metric machines, the passport distribution process was stopped in the capital Kabul.
