OIC calls continued war in Afghanistan as ‘genocide of Muslims’

 

MONITORING (SW) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has labelled the ongoing war in Afghanistan as ‘genocide of Muslims’.

This comes as Muhammad Qassim Halimi, Minister for Haj and Religious Affairs, met with Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, Secretary-General of the OIC and Dr. Mohammad Bin AbdulKarim Alissa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League MWL in the Saudi Arabia.

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation dubbed the war in Afghanistan as ‘genocide of Muslims’, the Ministry statement said. It added Minister Halimi underlined on this occasion that there was no excuse for the Taliban to continue fighting in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of foreign troops.

The Muslim World League on Thursday hosted in Makkah ‘the Islamic Conference on the Declaration of Peace in Afghanistan’, which was addressed by Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, secretary general of the MWL, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, the Pakistani minister of religious affairs and interfaith harmony and Mohammad Qasim Halimi, the Afghan minister of Hajj and religious affairs.
