LASHKARGAH (SW) – A magnetic bomb blast has killed a senior NDS officer in Lashkargah, capital of Helmand province.
A local source in Helmand, who did not want to be named, told Salam Watandar that the car bomb killed Sayed Mahmoud Sadat, the head of provincial NDS prosecutor office, and another person. According to the source, 8 other people, including a woman, were injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, Jamshid Rasouli, spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office, said that one soldier was killed and two of Sadat’s bodyguards were wounded in the blast.
The bomber struck when Sadat was on his way to office.
Mohammad Zaman Hamdard, spokesman for the Helmand Police Command, confirmed the incident, but did not give more details.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast.
