KABUL (SW) – Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, has said the NDS forces have thwarted the Taliban’s plan to assassinate him.

Saleh said this in his daily facebook post on the security situation in Kabul. He said the NDS forces have identified at least sixteen points marked by the Taliban for assassinating him.

The first vice president, referring to a previous attempt on his life, said though the Taliban said they had not carried out the attack, but those involved in the attack arrested by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) revealed their links with the insurgents, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayaba.

He added that two of the detainees confessed that they were also trying to track and kill Mohammad Sarwar Danish, the second vice president and Mohammad Karim Khalili, the leader of Hezb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Afghanistan.

Saleh said efforts are underway to arrest Qari Saeed, the ring leader of these terrorists.
