KABUL (SW) – The head of procurement at the Ministry of Education has been taken into custody over corruption charges.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the head of procurement at the Ministry of Education and the owner of the Waris Seyar Company have been arrested on charges of corruption.
It made the announced in a press release, which said the two men were detained yesterday on charges of corruption, following a series of investigations by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Serious Crimes of Corruption.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the cases of these two people are under investigation.
According to the newsletter, the head of procurement at the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Waris Seyar Company, bought a used power generator for AFN 12 million that had been smuggled into the country.
The Ministry of Education has not yet said anything about it.
