Government officials blamed for sowing differences among MPs

KABUL (SW) – A number of Wolesi Jirga (lower house) members on Wednesday charged government officials for fueling differences among parliamentarians.

Speaker Mir Rehman Rehmani said during the general session that the government officials are busy in fueling differences among members of the house instead of focusing on their primary duties. He demanded the government must respect rulings of the house and strive to provide jobs and security to the people.

A day earlier, Rehmani was blamed for peddling ‘foreign agenda’ by expressing support for an interim government in the country.

MP Abdul Sattar Hussaini said the parliamentarians must not level allegations against each other for the interests of government officials.

The annual budget was also discussed during today’s session with parliamentarians calling for drastic cuts in government spending and lavish salaries.
