Women police officers shot by gunmen in Kapisa

KAPISA (SW) – Security officials in Kapisa have said two female police officers were injured in a shooting by motorcyclists here.

Abdul Shaiq Shorash, head of the media office of the Kapisa Police Command, told Salam Watandar that the motorcycle riders opened fire on two female policemen at around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to him, the incident took place in the Hisa Dowam district of the province.

According to him, the two women officers worked in the Kapisa police command.

Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Danesh, director of health in Kapisa province, said one of the women officer is pregnant. He said doctors were trying to save the woman’s child.

Kapisa police said they have begun an investigation into the incident.

So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
