Suicide car bombing in Helmand kills four soldiers

LASHKARGAH (SW) – At least four members of the Afghan National Army got killed in Helmand following a suicide car bombing in Helmand province, an official confirmed.

Umer Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor, said the incident took place in the Yakhchal area of the Greshk district late last night. He added three soldiers got injured in this assault.

The Taliban have taken responsibility for the attack. In a statement, the group asserted it has inflicted heavy losses on the security forces.

A security source told Salam Watandar the insurgents took away two soldiers with them.

This comes as the Taliban and the Afghan government representatives are engaged in crucial intra-Afghan talks in the Qatari capital, Doha.
