KABUL (SW) – Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, has reached Kabul as part of his shuttle diplomacy to revive the stalled peace negotiations with the Taliban.
Upon arrival, he met a senior politician Syed Hamid Gillani on Saturday evening. After nine months of peace negotiations with the Taliban, U.S. President Donald Trump declared these talks cancelled after a Taliban-claimed suicide attack in Kabul last month that killed a number of people as well as an American soldier.
