QALAT (SW): The dead body of deputy of Zabul’s Ulema Council (religious council) was found in Shahjoi district of the province on Sunday morning.
Gul Islam Sayal, the provincial governor’s spokesman, said that 3 days ago, unknown gunmen abducted, Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Hikmat, the deputy of Ulema Council of the province, from Qalat city and was taken to undisclosed location, but on Sunday morning his body was found in Bara Khan area of Shahjoi district of the province.
The religious scholar, in a recent gathering in Zabul, criticizing Pakistan and the Taliban, had described the current conflict in the country as fratricide.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
