MAIMANA (SW): A young girl committed suicide on Friday in Maimana, capital city of northern Faryab province.
The provincial police have launched investigations into reasons behind the unfortunate incident. Talking to Salam Watandar, Abdul Kareem Yourish, spokesman for the provincial police department said that the girl consumed extra dose of pills to take her life. He added that the 26-year old girl was named Saudaba, daughter of Ghulam Haider. She was 4th grade student at the faculty of Arts and Anthropology at the University of Faryab.
The police have launched investigation into the matter and so far no one has been arrested.
A security source told Salam Watandar on the condition of anonymity that the girl was in love with a young boy but her parents were against this love affair. The source added that the girl was locked in a room by her parents where she ultimately took her life.
