BAMYAN CITY (SW): Local authorities in Bamyan province have said armed men shot dead a young girl in Gorwanai area of the Bamyan city last night.
Abdul Rahman, provincial governor’s spokesman, confirming the incident told Salam Watandar the authorities believe the incident to be a case of honor killing. He added some of the family members of the victim are arrested in connection with the killing.
“Aside from gunshot wound visible on the body of the victim, there are signs of the use of blunt force as well. Efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits”, assured Rahman.
Dr. Salim Nikpi, head of provincial public hospital, said the deceased was shot in the head. According to the hospital authorities, at least 4 cases of female murders have been registered with them in a month.
Last week, unknown men had cut the throat of a 20-year-old girl in the same area of the province.
