MAIMANA (SW) – A group of young female university graduates in Faryab donated the funds meant for their graduation ceremony to buy food for the war-displaced here.

The ragging violence in Jawzjan has forced many families to flee their home under harsh circumstances and take refuge in Faryab.

One of these fresh female graduates from the Matanat private university, Shagofa Mubarez, told Salam Watandar they decided to dedicate the funds collected for the graduation ceremony to the internally displaced persons. She said this was aimed at encouraging others to and promoting the spirit of cooperation and support for the needy ones.

The IDPs have thanked the students for providing them warm meal in the harsh winter after nearly 50 days. They lamented multiple surveys have been conducted, but no one has practically delivered aid to them.

On the other side, Faredon Aneeq, spokesman for the governor of Jawzjan, has hailed the move by the students. He expressed optimism this move would also encourage others to come for the aid and support of the IDPs. He added efforts are also underway in Jawzjan to support the needy IDPs.
