MAIMANA (SW): Local officials in Faryaab province, said that Taliban have shot dead a girl and her boyfriend in Khaja Sabzposh district in the province.
Abdullah Masoomi, District Chief in Khaja Sabzposh district, said that the couple were killed last night.
Masoomi identified the couple as Mingjamal, aged 25 and Azizullah 20 years old.
Masoomi added that Azizullah visited his girlfriend’s house at around 2:30 last night in Yangi Qala village when he was arrested by the Taliban and the militants shot them both dead.
Masoomi further said that a police officer has also been accused of having hand in the murder of the couple who escaped after the incident and joint the militants.
Taliban, however, have not commented on the incident yet.
Local Human Rights Commission in Faryaab, while condemning the incident, said that honour killing in Faryaabe has recently increased compared to the previous year.
Sayed Hafizullah Fetrat, Head of Human Rights Commission in the province, said that they have registered 160 cases of violence against women since the beginning of the current year out which 20 cases have been honor killing.
Faryaab has recently witnessed despicable violence against women.
Nearly three weeks ago, a man killed his daughter along with her boyfriend in Dawlat Abad district in Faryaab.
Elsewhere in the province, Mohammad Khan a resident of Sharshar village in Ghormach district, chopped off his wife’s nose and then fled to join the militants.
