KABUL (SW) – The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission has expressed grim concerns over surge in cases of target assassinations.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the AIHRC said in these ‘deadliest war tactics’ the international humanitarian rights are undermined that serves as shield for civilians during armed conflicts.<\/p>\n

“Horrific & worrying trend of targeted attacks. Activists, religious scholars, human rights defenders, politicians r being targeted. There is urgent need for investigation & accountability, including for today’s tragic attack that took the life of Dr Amin, scholar & activist”, tweeted   The commission has urged the Afghan government to identify perpetrators of such attacks and bring them to justice.<\/p>\n

In a latest incident of the sort, Mir Abdulbaqi Amin, head of the scientific council of the Ministry of Education, was killed in a blast in Kabul on Wednesday morning. Last month,<\/p>\n

AIHRC, in the memorial observance of “forty days after the death of its colleagues”, Fatima Khalil and Ahmad Jawid Folad, regreted that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack have not yet been identified and brought to justice.<\/p>\n
