Gen. Zahirgul Muqbil, Commander of 4<sup>th<\/sup> infantry brigade of the 215-Maiwand Crops, got killed in a landmine blast in Helmand province.<\/p>\n<p>Umer Zwak, spokesman for the provincial administration, told Salam Watandar the incident took place in the restive Marja district. He added four more people, including a local journalist, got injured in the blast.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman said the slain commander was heading a convoy of local journalists to review the situation in Marja following a security clean-up operation there.<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban took responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n<p>ENDS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LASHKARGAH (SW) \u2013 Brig.
