KABUL (SW) – The spokesman for presidency, Arg, has responded to remarks by the chief executive in regard to the peace process.<\/p>\n
Sediq Sediqqi, said in a statement that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has clearly articulated his vision to others, taking practical steps to achieve outcomes-with clear policy directions to all government to implement. “Linking a vision\/plan with ambition is poor political judgment. It is time for action & wisdom to implement it”, he tweeted.<\/p>\n
This came after Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said that President Ghani’s peace plan, proposed late last month, is an “ambition” rather than a plan.<\/strong> “The plan which is talked about is more like a proposal than being an inclusive plan,” Abdullah said.<\/p>\n Last week, The National Security Adviser, Hamdullah Mohib, shared contours of the government’s new peace strategy at a presser here on Tuesday. He said the launch of peace talks has now been made conditional to at least a month-long ceasefire in a bid to prove the Taliban leader’s control over his forces. He added guarantees would be sought from the Taliban and Pakistan against not extending the war or keeping the terrorists’ training camps.<\/p>\n He added the Taliban need to explain their ties to Pakistan and the two need to stop killing innocent Afghans.
