KABUL (SW): One day afternoon, some anonymous people took Samad Ruhani, one of the journalists out of his house in Helmand province and fusilladed him. Ghulam Hazrat, brother of the journalist, said that after his brother was killed, he was forced to leave school and faced many troubles since then.<\/p>\n

Another journalists Nawruz Reja, was beaten by one of the members of the lower House of Representatives and after being tortured and kept for hours in the house of this Member of Parliament, he was released few days ago. He said that the bodyguards of this Member of Parliament had such a behavior that he did not expect to survive.<\/p>\n

Now the Afghanistan Journalists Safety Committee said that after Mexico, Afghanistan is the most dangerous country for the journalists worldwide.<\/p>\n

Sediq Tawhidi, Chief Executive Officer of AJSC today in a meeting in Kabul for the “Intentional Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists”, said that in 2017 a thousand journalists were killed in the world and Afghanistan is right in the second place for the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Tawhidi, in some cases the directors of media in Afghanistan are acting inappropriately with journalists, they do not give their annual benefits and yearly leave days on time and even bullied against them.<\/p>\n

Officials of AJSC urged the government to seriously investigate cases of violence against journalists and pay attention to safety of journalists.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, NAI- Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan previously said that no journalists and media workers in Afghanistan had job protection.<\/p>\n
