{"id":85886,"date":"2017-09-17T06:59:28","date_gmt":"2017-09-17T06:59:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/lib\/afghanistan-bags-its-first-gold-and-silver-at-aimag\/"},"modified":"2017-09-17T06:59:28","modified_gmt":"2017-09-17T06:59:28","slug":"afghanistan-bags-its-first-gold-and-silver-at-aimag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/archive\/afghanistan-bags-its-first-gold-and-silver-at-aimag\/","title":{"rendered":"Afghanistan bags its first gold and silver at AIMAG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"561\" src=\"\/2017_Uploads\/2017\/Sep\/17\/Husain Safari\u06f3.jpg\" width=\"1000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>KABUL (SW): Afghanistan has successfully commenced the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) at Ashghabat with a gold and a silver medal on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>23-year-old Hussain Safari won the gold for Afghanistan in Men&rsquo;s 62 kilogram category of Ju-Jitsu Contact beating his rival from Turkmenistan Dawut Nuryyew. 21-year-old Jawid Ahmad Amiri won silver for Afghanistan in 60 kilogram category of Men&rsquo;s Freestyle Wrestling after making it to the final by beating Uzbekistan&rsquo;s Abdulrasul Khabibullaev and Turkmenistan&rsquo;s Nowruz Eyebergiyew before losing 2-4 to the host country&rsquo;s Tirkisgeldi Ayazow in the final.<\/p>\n<p>In other action, Afghanistan&rsquo;s Ahmad Jawad Sadat lost his Muay Thai match against Uzbekistan&rsquo;s Yarknat Ospan in the 60 kilogram category while Farid Bahar from Afghanistan also lost his match to his Chinese rival in the 81 kilogram category.
